With the Brill 2300 ESK Electric Roller Shredder, the shredded material is broken up by crushing and cutting, enabling it to rot more easily. The collecting box fulfils an important additional function in this model which is 64 litres; it is not only storage space for the shredded materials but it also forms a safety factor because it protects the discharge opening from access. Therefore, no-one can accidentally reach into the cutting mechanism from underneath while it is operating. If the box is removed, the unit switches off immediately. An additional safety factor is the long distance between the filling hopper and the blade mechanism.
